Star's Medical Debt

in 2019 I was taken to the emergency room after a night of vomiting and mind melting pain. without insurance, i tried to tough it out but the pain was so bad i had really thought my appendix was rupturing.

i had thought, because of some letters i received, the hospital had agreed to absorb the cost due to me being without income at the time and that obviously has not been the case. 

flash forward to today, i'm saddled with a $2,172 bill for spending four hours in a hospital bed, administered no tests, no IV, no medication. the doctor was too busy telling me how fat i am to acknowledge the extreme pain i was in. in the end i was sent away with a prescription for anti-spasmodic meds that cost $45 for 9 pills and parting words to "lose weight and you'll feel better."

i'm on a monthly payment plan for $50/mo which is reasonable but it'll take a damn long time to pay off (three and a half years?). most of you know i am a broke writer and illustrator and caretaker for my elderly grandparents, so the sooner this gets taken care of the better for me.
