Standing With Ajae Smith

We are fundraising for Ajae Smith son of Mistie (Al) Schwarzhoff and Abner (Amanda) Smith . Ajae Smith is 25 years old, and is what anyone who knows him would describe as a fun loving and active person. Some of Ajae's favorite hobbies include: snowboarding, hiking, climbing, and working out. On July 12th, 2021 Ajae had an accident and fell 3 stories causing injuries to his spinal cord. He burst 4 disks- 3 in his neck and 1 in his lower back. He had surgery to fuse his vertebrae from C4-T2 and L2-L4, along with repairing tissue damage.

Ajae's recovery has included a month long stay in Regions hospital starting in the ICU, and ending in the rehabilitation center. After being released from the hospital he moved home to Hager City with his mom and step dad, Mistie and Al Schwarzhoff. Several modifications were made to the house to accommodate a walker and a wheel chair as that is what Ajae uses to get around. Since being home Ajae has attended Physical and Occupational Therapy 2-3 times each week in Hudson, WI. Ajae has made great strides in his recovery so far, but he still has a long way to go.

Ajae is currently, and since the accident, unable to work. Unfortunately, we are having trouble with long term disability so Ajae has no income coming in at this time. We are asking for donations to help cover his insurance deductibles, the cost of transportation to therapy appointments, and various other things that are required to make life easier to navigate for Ajae during recovery.
