Stand with Sydney in Her Time of Need

Hey everybody! I am Sydney’s sister, Tasha. I decided to make this page due to the overwhelming desire of others to pitch in financially to Sydney through this trial. For those who don’t know exactly what is going on-

She started to have pain, discoloration and numbness to her foot off and on a couple weeks ago. Obviously a blood clot in a healthy 28 year old wasn’t the first thing on anybody’s mind. It got pretty bad and so she and my mom went to the emergency room last Monday, April 8th. A scan revealed a blood clot in her femoral artery. There was no pulse in her foot. She had her first thrombectomy at UPMC Altoona that afternoon. The doctor cleared some clot and she also got 2 fasciotomies (one on each side of her calf). Her foot has doing ok. At about 12:30 am there was no pulse in her foot again and she was rushed back to emergency surgery where he cleared more clot. Tuesday evening her foot was getting worse so they went back in a 3rd time to try to clear the clots and save her foot. By Wednesday morning it was evident there was nothing more they could do for her. She was flown to UPMC Magee Women’s hospital that afternoon. The doctors here made the decision to go in one more time and try to restore blood flow to as far down her leg as possible in order to try to save as much of her leg that could be saved. They are still not 100% sure how much they will need to take, but she will have part of her leg amputated tomorrow, April 16th. The surgeon is pretty confident she will be able to keep the amputation below Syd’s knee. Please pray for that specifically! Please also pray for her peace and comfort and that her pain is controlled.

We believe that God will be glorified through Sydney’s fight in mighty ways! Her hurt and struggle will not be in vain and she will get through this. One day at a time.

Obviously, Syd will be out of work for an extended period of time. She is young and single (marital status wise but far from single as she has the absolute best boyfriend by her side), owns her own house and has many bills and expenses. The funds raised will be used for medical bills that have acquired as well as any other bills that she will need paid while she is out of work. So many people have been mighty prayer warriors from day 1 and have also expressed a want and desire to help financially. No amount is too small and if you are unable to help financially please continue to send those prayers up to heaven for my sweet, beautiful baby sister! That is what we want and need the most from everybody!
