Stand with Charlene's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
In the heart of DeKalb County, where bravery and service are the daily norms, one of our own faces a personal emergency that calls for our collective strength and compassion. Charlene Jaudon, a dedicated firefighter at DeKalb County Fire Rescue, confronts a challenge far beyond the flames – a battle against Stage III Inflammatory Breast Cancer. The devastating news came as a thunderbolt, striking just a day after the loss of her beloved father, deepening the emotional ordeal with profound grief.

Charlene, known for her tenacity and unwavering spirit, has served our community with honor and distinction. Today, she needs us – her DeKalb Professional Firefighters Local 1492 Union family, friends, and the supportive community she has always protected – to rally around her in this critical time.

Her fight is formidable. Inflammatory Breast Cancer (triple-negative) is aggressive and requires an equally aggressive treatment plan. Charlene's journey ahead includes weekly infusions through August, routine blood draws, injections to bolster her white blood cells, a mastectomy with the possibility of it being a double procedure, followed by radiation therapy. It's a path lined with challenges and uncertainties, but with Charlene's courage and our support, it's a path that leads to hope and recovery.

Though her spirit remains unshaken, Charlene's capacity to work has been impacted. While she continues to serve at the training academy, her inability to work overtime shifts in operations – which form a significant part of her income – adds financial strain to an already burdensome situation. The reality of medical expenses and everyday bills looms large, threatening to overshadow her focus on healing.

This is where our mission begins.

We are starting this GoFundMe to ensure that Charlene can fight this cancer without the added weight of financial worry. Every dollar raised will directly support her medical treatments, recovery process, and living expenses during this trying time. Your contribution will relieve the pressure of medical bills, allow for her to maintain her home, and provide the necessary support systems to aid in her battle against cancer.

In times of crisis, heroes emerge. Now, it's our turn to be the heroes for someone who has spent her life being ours.

Please join us in supporting Charlene Jaudon, our hero in need. Donate generously, share her story, and send a message of hope that resonates louder than the sirens she's accustomed to. Together, we can make a difference in the life of a woman who has dedicated her life to making a difference in ours.

Thank you for your kindness, and let's show Charlene that no firefighter fights alone.
