Stand with Azia Imaan in Her Health Journey

Good Afternoon, kind souls. My name is Desiree Harris, but in my heart, I am Azia Imaan, which means "The Rising Sun of Faith." In just five weeks, I will mark a five-year journey as a breast cancer survivor. While this milestone should be a celebration, it's overshadowed by the daily battles I face with arthritis in my neck, osteopenia, fibromyalgia, and myalgia, which bring me excruciating pain.

The irony of life is that dancing, my greatest passion, is the only solace from the pain. Yet, here I am, at the doorstep of 41, finding that even the simplest movements are a challenge. My medical treatments, including physical therapy, chiropractic care, and acupuncture, come at a steep cost, pushing my health insurance to $458 monthly. And with my conditions, I'm unable to take on any job that demands physical labor.

I never envisioned my life taking this turn. Despite having insurance, the out-of-pocket expenses for treatments, alongside rent, utilities, food, and medication, are overwhelming. Today, I reach out with a humble heart, asking if you could find it within yourself to extend a helping hand. Any assistance would be a beacon of hope in my storm.

I've always found it difficult to ask for help, preferring to rely on my parents' unwavering support. But the reality is, I need more help than they can provide, and the system has turned its back on me, with denials and delays that leave me stranded.
