Stand By Amy

Some of you may not know, but my mother, Amy Day had emergency surgery on July 17th, 2017. She arrived at the Emergency Room at 4:30am with severe stomach pains and after the Doctor on call did a CT scan, we were told that she had a large mass between the small and large intestine. She was immediately transferred to another hospital in the area and had surgery three hours later. After surgery we were told that the mass was cancerous, but that was only the beginning. Her doctor also informed us that there were two masses in her liver, but because of the location of them, they are inoperable which means my mom will need aggressive chemo in order to one day be as healthy as she once was. This is something so unexpected and very scary for us as a family and I can't even begin to imagine what my mom is going through. Unfortunately, my mom isn't eligible for Medicare which makes her situation even harder because of her lost income. We are hoping that she will be able to return to work soon, but as of now she is unable to. While she is out of work, this puts a hard strain on my family financially as they now have lost 50% of their income and there are additional co-pays for her hospital bills and treatments. My mom is my whole world, and I know we'll come out stronger on the other side. She's my best friend, and my other half.
