Help Bev Get a Stair Lift!!

Have you ever climbed Mt. Everest?
For most of us the answer to that question is no. Only a relative handful of people have ever managed to make this trek, and all needed some kind of assistance to make it happen. Now imagine having to do this climb every night!
Ok, it's a metaphor...but for our mom—Bev, it's her truth. The stairs in the home that she and our stepdad Brian (who is now also her full-time caregiver) share have become her Mt. Everest.
She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 30, with an ailing mother to care for and two daughters to raise. For years Bev remained very healthy and independent, and was able to do most anything she wanted. Yet over the past dozen years or so, her condition has deteriorated. Little by little her disease has progressed to the point where she is unable to walk without assistance. Now, after a couple of infections have weakened her and even put her in the hospital for a few days, the time has come that she can no longer independently navigate the stairs in her home.
So today we come to our friends to do the thing that is often the most difficult—asking for help to get her a stair lift installed. Due to financial and physical limitations, moving to a new home without stairs isn't an option. On her worst days, climbing even the two stairs to get from the living room to the entryway landing is next to impossible. For this reason, a custom stair lift will be needed because it has to wrap around the entryway to the main floor. Unfortunately, custom stair lifts are pricey. The average cost out of the estimates we've gotten is about $12,000.

We are humbly asking for any assistance you may be able to give, so that this amazing lady we call Mom can be able to get to her bed and shower each day, safe and sound, and with enough energy to spend time with the family and friends she loves.
