Stage IV Cancer healing journey

Hi, my name is Brian and most of you know me as a 58 year old energetic, educated, dedicated husband, father and physical medicine practitioner. You know that I’ve been functionally blind since age 9 but that never stopped me from leading an inspirational life.  I served in the US ARMY; 1st Infantry Division. I’ve worked as a technician and planner in Aerospace for almost 10 years, and went to college and graduated with dual Bachelor’s specialties, and a Master of Science.

I got into Physical Medicine in 1993 and trained with some of the finest educators in the field. I’ve taught as a substitute teacher, as a High School Medical Skills teacher, and carried teaching certifications in three counties. I’ve also taught vocational level massage therapy and more advanced classes as a teaching assistant.

I tend to develop deep, long term relationships with colleagues, students and clients that inspires them to live their lives to the fullest. I’ve mentored professional development acted as a financial counselor and taught long term investment strategies. Many of you know I’ve opened my house, my practice, and knowledge to advancing therapists.

Blindness and the restrictions that come with it have caused my income to be limited through the years. My only consistent income has been through massage work for Clinical Touch. The practice regularly improves performance for stage performers, body builders, soccer players, golfers, pickleball players, tennis pros, and others young and older who seek to get the most out of their physical movement.

Then, on March 3rd of this year I was diagnosed with Metastatic Liver Cancer. There was no sign of this as recent as two years ago. The doctors in the ER and the Oncologist all agreed that with this much liver involvement I shouldn’t be able to leave the hospital. They only had one potential answer using one powerful chemotherapy to “SLOW” it down.

I then sought a 2nd opinion with Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL. Their conclusions were similar, but they were willing to do some additional testing and work on tailoring the chemotherapy.

Long term income limitations, the closing of the practice (viral risks) and only the most basic of insurance means that this next part of life will get expensive.  Insurance will cover some of the costs, but won’t cover the additional testing or supplemental treatments to strengthen my immune system.

I’ve decided to use my time to turn this into an educational journey. I have begun investigating the validity of alternative treatments. My list includes the use of Supplements, concentrated Oxygen therapy, Chelation therapies, UV blood treatments. Blood testing for Viral, Fungi, Mold, Bacterial and BioFilm loads on the immune system. Any or all of these strategies may unlock the malfunction in my immune system that allowed the cancer to form. None of these tests or treatments are covered by insurances. The bill from the ER and 1st hospital stay was $87,000. Co-pays for current chemotherapy and additional testing cannot yet be determined.

While my bride and I thank the healers, practitioners, and well-wishers for their love, prayers, energy, and support, right now we also need another type of help - financial. Anyone who knows me knows I hate to ask for help and have tried to overcome obstacles on a regular basis.  It pains me to say it, but if I pursue the best health strategies available I may live, but I can bankrupt my planned retirement.

As best I can determine from all the research I’ve done, I need to raise about $100,000.00. I’m using Go Fund Me because they don’t keep any of the money. They do however charge a $0.30 fee and 2.9% to cover Credit Card Processing. If you know me, and want to avoid this, contact me through the company website for the proper mailing address.

Regardless of what you can contribute, Please, PLEASE, repost this message with a personal comment about how knowing me has impacted your life. I want to continue to inspire and with your support I will find a way to beat this and keep everyone aware of my findings.

Thank you for considering a contribution to this Go Fund Me account and for sharing the message.

Bless you and remember to take great care of one another.
