Stacie Won't Lose - Fight Against Bowel Cancer

I am setting up this go fund me page for Stacie and her family...it’s not an easy thing to put into words the reality that they are facing.

Picture this...an ambitious but humble hardworking 27yr old mother of 3 young children. The things that bring her joy are playing netball, always performing at optimum levels at work, planning holidays with her husband and championing her children in everything they do.

These simple things in life are now being challenged by Stage 3 Bowel Cancer.

Here is a snapshot of her story so far.

After many surgeries, tests and scans in the last 6 months Stacie was devastatingly diagnosed with Stage 3 Bowel Cancer.

The cancer hit aggressively and fast, within 2 weeks of her diagnosis she required surgery to remove a large section of her bowel before her bowel was completely obstructed by the cancer and further removal of lymphs.

Stacie and her family were told they’d have 6weeks recovery before chemo started...this didn’t happen...there was no time to process, prepare or plan. The very next week Stacie was told she needed to begin taking medication to place her body into a state of menopause, everything has been accelerated.

Today Stacie commenced day 1 of an intensive 6month chemotherapy cycle, and it was the roughest day of her life.

With the terrible side effects of chemotherapy and medications her fears of not being able to continue to work full time and be the ever-present mother that she always has been have become a reality. Stacie is expected to be impacted by peripheral neuropathy, which may last beyond the treatment to permanency.

Stacie’s husband Luke has been and will continue to take time from their small business and only source of income to care for her, transport and attend these routine chemo sessions, (not to mention attempt to keep some normalcy and routine for their 3 young children) whilst she fights this cruel and expensive fight. The last thing this family needs is added financial stress... most of the ongoing specialist appointments, treatments and medications are very expensive.

We may not all be able to be on the front line in this fight, but we can try to lighten their heavy financial load. Stacie and Luke are not the type to ask for help in any shape or form, especially when it comes to money so that is why we are setting up this GoFundMe page on their behalf.

Any donation big or small will be appreciated more than any of her family can express and will go directly to Stacie and her family to deal with the loss of income, medical bills and day to day living expenses.
