St. Timothy's Youth Mission Trips

Donation protected
El Hogar is an Episcopal boys and girls school and orphanage in Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras. Opening its doors to the poor and homeless, El Hogar provides a safe, loving home for about 250 boys and girls. When young men and women leave, they have received a good education and are prepared to work in agriculture, electrical repair, metal work, or woodworking, all skills that are in short supply in Honduras.
For one week a year 15 of our youth and adults go to El Hogar to experience this amazing place full of love. While on this mission trip we help repair/build anything that may need to be done to make the orphanage a safer and better place, all the while with our main purpose of building relationships with children who give endless amounts of hugs and love.
Appalachia Service Project is the other mission trip we take. We typically have a mixture of 30 teens and adults that take a week out of their summer break to sleep on floors, often times in a school without air conditioning, taking cold showers (outside), comfort is not a common feeling during this week, and yet it is one of the best experiences we have. We learn about our faith while making the people of Appalachia warmer, safer, drier.
