I am speaking for a family friend that has been affected by the recent events in not only Minnesota but the United States as a whole.
Sports Dome was one of many small businesses in Minnesota to have faced the effects of looting and rioting. Starting from noon on May 28, clothes, hats, shoes, and everything else in the store was stolen. The store was torn apart until it burned to the ground late at night and into the morning of the next day. There is NOTHING left of it now. Won Kim and his family immigrated to the US in 1982. While risking everything and having a bare minimum of savings, they worked and worked for 34 YEARS. This was the Kim family's only source of income. Money can be replaced, but the TIME they've spent building their business cannot. Writing this, all I can say is that I am deeply heartbroken. The family is suffering both financially and emotionally. The owner, Won Kim cried out, "I understand the protests, but why break a small store. Why come into the store and shake things out?"

스포츠 돔 (Sports Dome)은 최근 폭동과 약탈로 피해를 입은 미네소타의 작은 한인 사업체 입니다. 지난 5월 28일 정오부터 시작해 옷, 모자, 신발, 그리고 가게에 있던 모든 것이 도난 당했습니다. 그리고 가게는 저녁부터 다음날 아침까지 하나도 남은 것 없이 전부 타 버리고 말았습니다. 가게 주인인 Won Kim과 그의 가족들은 1982년도에 미국으로 이민했습니다. 34년간 열심히 절약해서 저축하고 많은 어려움을 견디면서 일해 오셨습니다. 이 가게는 Kim 가족의 유일한 생계 수단입니다. 재정적인 피해도 큰 문제 이지만 그분들의 인생이 담긴 이 가게는 다시 돌릴수 없을 것 같습니다. 이 글을 쓰면서 제가 하고 싶은 말은 저 또한 가슴이 찢어진다는 것입니다. 가족들은 지금 재정적, 감정적 고통을 받고 있습니다. 가게 주인인 Kim은 "시위를 이해한다. 그렇지만 왜 작은 상점을 부수고 물건을 가져 가는가" 라고 말했습니다.
