Save Our Theatre
The Ilion Little Theatre is need of your help. This community theater, in operation in upstate New York since 1924 is a historic landmark In the Mohawk Valley and after almost a century of entertaining Central New York audiences, our building is undergoing unprecedented damage and need, most notable for a new roof.
If left unattended, the problems caused by the leaking roof will only extend to the rest of the structure. The brick and mortar have been saturated and if not given the opportunity to dry out, come winter, that saturation will freeze and crack the bricks in the structure.
The recent discovery of these leaks comes shortly after other recent and necessary repairs to electrical work and the replacement of the theater's furnace. These repairs, teamed with our monthly operating expenses (even when not performing shows), and the COVID-19 pandemic of the past year+ leaving us unable to safely perform our usual season of productions has created the perfect storm and has left our operating funds depleted.
While we plan to resume a return to the stage in Fall 2021, the historical status of the Ilion Little Theatre means that repairs to the building must be respective to the property's historic character, adding to the complication and cost of such repairs.
