SSA U13 Strikers get to the EMSA Slush Cup 2023!

Hello everyone!

My name is Stefanie Brown and I am the Team Manager for the Strathmore Soccer Association’s U13 Strikers team. This season, our team has been accepted into the EMSA Slush Cup, which is a larger tournament than our team has ever been to. Our team of 11- and 12-year-olds has been working hard all season to grow as a team and are looking forward to a season-ending tournament. Many of our players have been with the Strathmore Soccer Association for 4 or more seasons and so they are a close-knit group of kids. We are an inclusive team that includes female athletes, Indigenous athletes, new athletes, and seasoned athletes. As the only U13 team in Strathmore, we would love to be able to showcase our program on a larger scale.

some accolades shared by members of this team include invitations to indoor and outdoor provincials in 2022, a silver medal win in the Anthem United tournament in January 2022, a 4th place finish at the Airdrie Summit in June 2022, and a 3rd place finish in the outdoor 2022 season.

The main reason for this fundraiser is to cover tournament entry costs, travel fees, team activities, and hotel fees for our players and coaches (who do not have children playing on the team). We know that inflation has made the world a little more costly, so we just want to help alleviate that cost as best we can.

So we ask that if you can, please show these 16 athletes and 2 volunteer coaches how much their success means to Strathmore and their friends and family. Even small donations add up and will help our kids get a chance to show off on the big stage!
