Australia is in need of our love and support, together we can make a difference. Here are our stories...

Daniela Dib-
Australia is a country near and dear to my heart. My dad, who was born and raised in Sydney, has so many beautiful stories of growing up in Australia. We spend many Christmas in Sydney as a family. My current kin of aunts, uncles cousins, and grandma (Tata) are all there still. And my little sister will be heading to that side of the world with her husband soon. It's with a heavy heart that we watch the devastating effects that climate change has wreaked upon so much of the country. Not only creating havoc with humans, but the suffering these fires have caused for animals is also nothing short of heart-wrenching. With the death toll of animals climbing well past a billion, The time for thoughts and prayers has long passed. The only thing that can be done now is converting our sadness into immediate and real action. I believe that each and every one of us has been given a platform and a voice to not only raise awareness to pressing world issues but to take a stand and do our part as well. Individually we are strong, but together we are unstoppable. We truly hope you can join us to raise donations to help ease the suffering of so many animals, humans, and of course, Mother Earth. It may feel like a small step. But even a small step in the right direction has a ripple effect on the world.

Issac Dib-
As an Australian, I am saddened to see the out of control fires devastating the natural habitats of the animals, reptiles, and birds. The pain of seeing so many koalas, kangaroos, and other unique wildlife as well as the beautiful tree's being consumed by these raging fires hurts inside. I cannot fight the fires with my hands, but I can pray for Australia and give what I can to help the many good souls rescuing and caring for the injured animals. Long after these fires are finally put out will the healing process is for the land itself and the countless wildlife lost. Trees will need to be planted and nurtured. Animal sanctuaries must be helped to help bring wildlife numbers back. The smoke will clear. Australians are strong and hardly bunch, but they need everyone's help right now. Love you, Daniela, for doing your bit. Every little bit helps. Pray for Australia. Thank you.

JD Leano-
Being from Latin America, the devastating fires in the Amazon broke my heart. Seeing the level of action and awareness that was spread from people in other parts of the world lifted my spirit and allowed me to see that people do care, and it is moments like these that bring us together. We are all connected. Despite geographic barriers, I believe we are all citizens of the world, and we need to start taking greater care of it. It is because of this level of care and connection that I also wanted to do something about the fires in Australia. We are currently living in a time and place where we have to use whatever platforms we have to make a difference. YLTN cares. Our community cares. You care. I care.

Matthew Schmidt-
I think for me, the value of this ride is in bringing together people for a common cause of goodness, recognizing that what's happening in Australia is something that affects all of us. The loss, the sadness, the hope, the bravery - it's all part of the world we live in together. As much as we like to believe we can control things - climate or otherwise - we only really have control over how we respond to things, how we show up for the people and events in our lives. Right now, this is in our life: this major change in Australia. And you better believe we're showing up. And I'm confident we'll see more and more of this kind of thing. The world is so connected, and we are all one.
