Squash Blossom Farm Fundraiser

Donation protected
Squash blossom farm is replanting itself. We started in upstate New York in 2011 and have made the journey westward to Oregon on a dream of redefining what it means to be a family farm. Our dream is to biodynamically raise vegetables as well as cattle, poultry, u-pick orchards and produce compost and biodynamic preparations. We will create a lush ecosystem that generates health through nutrient-dense food while also cultivating community. We focus on soil health, no-till production, and flavor!

Currently the norm of western society is large scale corporate farming that produces large amounts of waste. Food travels far distances, losing nutritional value along the way. Consumers are disconnected from their food source, only having access to food in a grocery store. These large farms prioritize monetary gain over the well being of its surrounding community.

In the future, if no action is taken, large areas of land will stay in the hands of very few. Increasing amounts of chemicals will be required to replenish the soil. People will be sick. Our food system will continue to be broken.

In a future of small market farmers, a community revolving around food would be created. The purchaser would know their farmer and would know where their food comes from. Food would be nutrient dense, without contamination and delicious. Land would be maintained and honored for the resource that it is. A holistic farm with animals, grass, vegetables, trees, and people, a system where each can play its part. The farmer would be the steward of this ecosystem.

Supporting our farm is an opportunity to benefit more than one community. Small, biodiverse, no-till farms also impact climate change by removing carbon from the air and bringing it back to the soil where it belongs.

Your donation will be used to help us purchase the land to create our dream farm. Once we find that property, will we will be building greenhouses, planting orchards, purchasing a tractor for compost making and acquiring cattle. Your support is invaluable to us! In order to meet our goal of creating the farm in 2020, we are committing to find property by June 21st, the summer solstice.  We have fed thousands of people during our farming career. If everyone donated what they can, we can surely do this project together. We are so grateful to have that love come back around to us.

We are dedicating our lives to this mission. We have been operating solo up to this point, and now see the reality that this is a community effort. This is an opportunity to be part of a revolution of health, environment and community. Will you take it?
