Spud Valley Nordic Snowmobile Fundraiser

Donation protected
Spud Valley Nordic Association is a non profit member Association located in Pemberton, BC. We offer cross-country ski programs for children (Jackrabbits and Junior Racer), workshops and fun events. Our successful children’s programs host approximately 80 kids each winter and operate in the Nairn Falls campground from mid December- late March. All coaches and administrators are volunteers. For the last 28 years we have hosted our biggest fundraiser, the Spud Valley Loppet - a fun family 5 and 10 km race held on private farm land with prizes donated locally.

We need to replace our snowmobile used by volunteers to groom and maintain the trails at Nairn Falls and the annual Loppet course. Our snowmobile is now 20 years old and just can't do the work anymore. A special snowmobile is required in order to pull heavy loads and operate in low gear. The usual mountain sleds that you see in the corridor are insufficient for the job. We have searched the corridor (including Whistler Blackcomb and Whistler Sports Legacies) for a used machine, but have found nothing suitable.

Through our fundraising efforts and grant applications we are trying to purchase a new snowmobile allowing our volunteers to groom the 3.5 km of trails at Nairn Falls twice weekly for our programs and for public usage. In addition, we will explore other opportunities to groom and track set on private land in the Pemberton Valley next winter and beyond.  Our goal is to raise $2500 by March 30th allowing us to apply for additional grant money.

We would sincerely appreciate your donation to help us continue offering a great program for kids to learn how to Nordic ski and for public use on the trails!
