Three weeks ago after 2 months of ongoing back pain, Nathan 'Spready' finally went to the doctor and got the news no one wants to hear. The Big C. Now we all know how much cancer sucks but when you are 27 years old with 2 small children and a beautiful wife it sucks even more.
The cancer they think he has is rare, the fancy title is CHOLANGIOCARCINOMA . It is Stage 4 and though conventional treatment such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy can help control it, there is no cure. There is a test that can help define the diagnosis and tailor the treatment to Nathan so they have a chance to beat the cancer.
But this costs a lot of money. This test is only done in the USA and can cost up to $6,000. Add the fact that Spready can't work and his wife Sally needs to look after him, it means money is tight.
As his friends and family, we want to do something. And if everyone chips in (no amount too small!) we can help them get the test and cover some of the medical expenses.
