Dearest family, friends, colleagues, and teachers,
I deeply appreciate you taking the time to click the link that led you to this page and read about my latest endeavors! As some of you may already know, I recently started the SECOND year of my chiropractic doctorate program in the San Francisco Bay Area and I am the happiest I have been in my entire life. Chiropractic resonates with me at every level of my being and I’m happy to have found a career that truly encompasses my values and beliefs. This is my life’s calling and I’m incredibly lucky to do what I love Every. Single. Day!
These last 12 months have challenged me more mentally, emotionally, and physically than anything I have ever done before, yet, at the end of every day I know I’ve become a better version of myself than I ever thought possible.
This December I will embark on my very first chiropractic mission trip to serve the beautiful people of Malinalco, Mexico! On December 17th, I, along with a handful of other students and doctors from across the country, will be working under the famed Dr. John Martinez, DC of Denver, CO for an entire week. I have come to know Dr. Martinez from attending some of his more popular chiropractic seminars in California. As a proud alumnus of Life Chiropractic College West, he has now been in successful practice for over 5 years (Pneuma Chiropractic and Family Wellness Center in Denver) and continues to provide opportunities for ambitious and hungry-to-learn students to enhance their analysis and adjusting skills through immersive experiences such as this.

What is Chiropractic? I strongly believe that chiropractic is about more than simply getting people out of pain. Though it’s an amazing and valuable result, what all humans really desire is the ability to do the things that pain keeps them from doing. I, as a future doctor, want to help people live life to their fullest potential. Chiropractic, in its entirety, is the science, art & philosophy of detecting and removing vertebral subluxations. Subluxations are the improper relationships of spinal bones (vertebra) that cause the nerves exiting the spinal cord to become impinged or disrupted in some way. When this occurs the brain is not able to communicate messages from the brain to the body and vice versa. These messages can be for heart rate, digestion or even breathing. The brain also allows us to interact with the world...how we feel, who we love and what motivates us. If there is an interference in the transmission of these messages someone will not be able to function at their highest potential, which can impact their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being. Chiropractic service restores the brain-body connection to facilitate healing and improve nervous system communication. AMAZING, right?!
That being said, I need YOUR help to make this trip a reality. Budgets tend to be insanely tight in a doctorate program, so my goal is to reach $2500 to cover all of my expenses for flight, food, accommodations, and transportation. If it is in your capacity to support this cause, I will be forever grateful. Your love and support mean so much to me and continually inspires me to give, love, and serve those who need it the most.
This retreat will put me in the heart of where I know I’m meant to be in the future --whether that be Mexico itself or Latin America in general. I have trained, I am training, and I will continue to train to make 100% sure the people of Mexico receive the care they deserve. This is only the beginning, and knowing I will be giving back to the culture that created my parents, and ultimately me, to be all that we are would be an opportunity in which I would be forever indebted.
