Spike for Ushers
Welcome to the 1st Spike for Usher's tournament at Penn State. The tournament will be hosted at the Hub-Robeson lawn on October 24th. My name is Carter Ellis and I am a freshman at PSU. I'm hosting this tournament for the benefit of Massachusetts Eye and Ear, directly to the research for a cure for Usher Syndrome. Usher syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects both the hearing and vision. Retinitis pigmantosa is what directly affects the eyes, and causes patients' peripheral vision to slowly dimenish until they are considered legally blind. Researchers have found a short term solution to pause the deterioration, and our mission is to help them get even closer to finding a long term cure. Please visit masseyeandear.org for more info on the cause. If you would like to learn more about the tournament itself, please visit fwango.io/spikeushers.
