Steve's Fight

Friends, family and members of our tight boating community we have a friend who is in need of some help.  Back on Memorial Day weekend, May 27th 2017 we received a phone call in the early morning hours that one of our best friends Steve Schwickrath was brought to the emergency room where they thought at the time he had suffered a stroke.  After further testing it was determined that Steve did not suffer a stroke at the time; they found a large tumor called a Meningioma Brain Tumor that had grown into the main vessel that returns blood to the arms and legs and had also grown and attached to parts of the bone in his head.  Steve underwent major brain surgery on Monday, June 19th to remove the tumor and luckily they were able to remove all of the tumor without any complications. Steve's tumor was deemed a level 2 tumor that will require multiple rounds of radiation.  Steve is currently recovering and going through inpatient physical therapy daily however is confined to a wheelchair until he is able to stand and function on his own.  This has been very taxing and grueling on not only Steve but his wife Jenni who has been by his side throughout this ordeal.  They do have insurance and some savings to help cover costs but with Steve out of work and not being able to return home or to work yet they are out of pocket many medical expenses that are overwhelming them financially.  We are trying to raise funds to help take some of the added stress off of them and to assist with the medical expenses they have faced.  Our goal is to raise $15,000 towards medical expenses but any little bit will help.  I ask all of you to please take a second out of your day to help a fellow friend, loving husband and avid boater.  We have all faced times of need and this is one of them.  They surly could use our help and I would be very humbled to anyone that could help.
