Spence's Medical Fund

Donation protected
On Sunday, June 25, 2017, Spencer was in a tragic freak accident while playing in his league’s championship flag football game. While attempting to make a hit, he stepped too low and the other player’s hip collided with his neck. The impact shattered his 5th vertebrae leaving him temporarily paralyzed from the middle of his ribcage on down.

Spencer was taken to Prince George’s County Hospital Center where he went into an 8-hour surgery to repair the vertebrae and realign his neck. After two and half weeks he was transferred to a rehabilitation center where he currently is in therapy. As of today, he remains in good spirits. He has feeling down to his waist and slight sensation in his legs and feet. His upper body is getting stronger every day and he has almost regained complete control of his hands and fingers.

We are praying for a full recovery, however, that will take some time. During this last month, Spencer has already incurred quite a few hospital bills, which leads us to this page. Outside of his new hospital expenses he still has his normal bills to take care of for his family. He is the father of two young children, ages 3 and 8.

Thank you again for all of your prayers and support! If you have anything that you would like to donate, it would be greatly appreciated! We will continue to keep you updated on his progress as he reaches each new milestone. Feel free to message us for more information.
