Spencer's medical and recovery cost

On Friday, September 22, Spencer was assaulted by a group of men when he interviened to try and stop a fight from happening. Despite the fact that he was attempting to help and he did not fight back, they beat him, kicked in his face,  and stole his backpack. This assault took place in Moscow, Idaho and the police are searching for the perpitrators. Our family is hopeful that they will be aprehended and brought to justice.
In the meantime, Spencer has a long path to recovery in front of him. Becasue of the damage done to his face, jaw, and mouth he cannot have surgery for 3 months. The surgery would give him the dental implants to replace the teeth he lost in the assault and correct additional damage.  While he is waiting to have this much needed surgery he is restricted to a liquid diet. The deductible for his medical expenses alone is $3000, this does not include any out of pocket expenses for his dental  and medical procedures. It also does not include his expenses to replace the personal items which were stolen, and wages lost from time off of work. Spencer is the last person to ask for help, he is also the kind of person who would give someone else the shirt off his own back if they needed it. He is weathering this terrible storm with a positivity and calm that frankly blows us away. It is a tenstiment to the kind of person he is.
