Kenya Special Caregivers Space (SPeCS)

Matthew 25:40
"The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'
How many of us can say that we live by this verse, this promise? Caregivers Special Caregivers Space is filled with those who do. Men and women who work everyday to ensure the safety, health and well being of children suffering special needs and their families. When Susan Njeri tarted this organization she had a vision and it was to fill the caregivers void for kids with my disabilities void that was lacking in Kenya. Right now their main aim is to reach out to special caregivers, share experiences and look for ways to ease the burden of special parenthood. The children they work with range from very little up to 14 years of age. The caregivers help take care of kids with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, and Spine Bifida. Millions of kids all around the world are diagnosed with these disabilities and have to fight to live & maintain healthy lives, without caregivers and loving families this wouldn't be possible.

In Kenya there has always been stigma around people with disabilities and a lot of kids get abandoned or are left to be taken care of by the hospitals. Sometimes this is because parents are scared or sometimes even angry their child is not born "normal", a lot of parents even in the US struggle to take care of there children but especially those with disabilities. It can be very expensive but thanks to programs like SPeCS parents don't have to worry about that. That is why I need your help! Let's help SPeCS continue do Gods work like providing daycare and medication, and resources for the caregivers by giving what we can and volunteering where you can. So don't wait give now,
thank you and God bless!

Future mission/project:
In the near future, we are focused on having an empowerment program/project for caregivers. We would like to set up a beadwork workshop so that the caregivers would have a source of earning even after they leave their kids in the daycare. Most of the parents would not bring in the kids to the daycare because they don’t see the need since they don’t have jobs. This is either because they are not academic qualified or they lack manual or basic skils
We are also planning to expound this further to a special school unit, an idea born out of lack of schools around our community. The schools available are either too far or expensive.
