Spearman Fire Recovery

On St. Patrick's Day of 2021, Chuck Spearman, father of 4 and grandfather of 10, tragically lost his home due to fire. The fire consumed everything he owned and most of the home itself. He has lived in this home for about 15 years, running his rain gutter business and establishing himself as a pillar of his community. He makes fast friends with whomever comes into his life, with his big heart and overwhelming generosity.

The fire happened on the morning of March 17, 2021. The fire was likely caused by some faulty electrical wires or equipment, and Chuck did his best to fight off the fire himself before the fire department arrived on the scene. Fortunately, he only sustained minor burns, which were taken care of by the hospital. Unfortunately, the fire consumed most, if not all of his home before the fire department could extinguish the flames.

Chuck lost all of his personal belongings, including family heirlooms, clothes (including his amazing collection of Hawaiian shirts), bedding, medicine, and anything else we take for granted day to day. He also lost everything he needs to administer his business: computers, files, printers, copier machines, etc.

While memories cannot be replaced, we estimate the personal belongings & business items together will take at least $25k to replace.

Fortunately, he has many friends and family who can take him in. But he'll need donations of clothes (shirt size 2XL-3XL, pant size 40-45), or anything else you may think of to get him back on his feet would be appreciated.

Since he has lost his home, we are prioritizing rebuilding or relocating him into a space he can call his own again soon. We hope to provide him with everything he needs within the next 2 or so weeks.

The donations from this campaign will be used to replace many of the items mentioned above, as well as anything else he needs in order to rebuild his life.
