Meet Flaco (skinny). He is the reason we are turning this sterilization clinic dream to a reality! This was Flaco when we first met him. He was a street dog until we took him in.  He is grumpy, food aggressive, dumb, very loyal and a super sweet dog.  Read on if you have a heart for animals, or Nicaragua, or both!

After several years of frequenting the area of San Diego, Nicaragua and watching too many homeless dogs and cats struggling for their food, shelter, medical attention or love. With each return to the community, we were seeing a constant rotation of helpless and homeless dogs and cats on the streets. It was heart breaking and we knew we had to help.

We have recently connected with a Nicaraguan rescue organization called ADAN   They are a great rescue organization with many foster homes all over Nicaragua. They are passionate about rescuing and finding homes for abandoned, abused or stray animals. Adan will be helping us with the eduction and rescue part of our clinics.  We have also secured  volunteer Dr's  from Plusvet that will perform the surgeries.  Thank you Plusvet!! Together, our goal is to help decrease the growing homeless and suffering cat and dog population in the area of San Diego, Nicaragua.  Any community members interested  is welcome, free of charge, by using donations of animal-loving donors like yourself.

  * The estimated cost of one cat or dog to be sterilized is just under $20USD.  Our goal is to reach 200 animals, over the next year, if we can reach our goal and secure the funds of $4000.

Fact- Nicaragua is one of the poorest countries in Latin America.  Due to poverty,  (animal) education, and insufficient animal health care- little help or hope exists for the animals. If the humans are fighting every day to  feed your family or find work, your pets will suffer the same problem. In rural areas it is common that pets are not considered pets. Dogs guard the property, cats eat pests, horses work in the field, etc. Add the lack of accessible animal services, money and education (animal)  and you see where I’m going.…

Our biggest goal is to educate the locals. We believe this and access to free steralization program, will help minimize the population growth of uncared for animals for future generations. By decreasing the number of animals- we can have a direct impact on the community!

Happy endings...

This is Ponchito, our first welcomed stray, now living the life of a king! He is healthy, spoiled, fat and happy!

These two boys (no names yet) recently came to us. They were found in a car engine in a gated community, no momma in sight.  They were very tiny and needed to be fed with a syringe to survive.  Thankfully they got they care they needed and now live with Ponchito and Flaco, however, not always harmoniously. But, it's perfect for them!

Thank you for your support and love for the animals  --> Follow clinic updates here !!!
