Southside Recreation Center is seeking your help to fund renovations for our pool and to establish year round sports and aquatics. SSRC is one of the oldest community nonprofit organizations in Valdosta, Lowndes County. It was founded in 1964 to serve African-American youth prior to desegregation. 57 years later, SSRC continues to positivity impact the lives of children of all races and their families while relying primarily on donations from private citizens, local community partners, grants, and
other local sources of funding.
Efforts to restore the pool in the past decade have been hindered by grant-funding restrictions and a lack of capital improvement funds.
We are thankful for all past donations and help with our on-going efforts over the years. . We are requesting your help as we seek to complete our stated goals by raising $30,000. Cody Radney, the owner of “The Cody Store,” has spearheaded this particular fundraising campaign with his generous $1000 donation. Your donation (no matter the amount) is needed. With your help, we can restore the largest pool in Lowndes County. Join us as we make history!
