Support SouthBark Art Jam: Creating Space, Art, and Belonging on Whyte!
Our Story: A Vibrant New Celebration of Belonging
Something incredible is coming to Old Strathcona. The Edmonton Mural Festival (EMF) is taking over the Club 82 building at the SouthBark Dog Park on Whyte Avenue, turning it into a massive, 360-degree collaborative public art installation. This isn't just a painting project—it’s a live, high-energy community celebration anchored entirely on inclusion, mentorship, and creating a space where everyone belongs.
During the Whyte Avenue Art Walk, a powerhouse lineup of local talent will work side-by-side to completely wrap the building in a stunning collaborative mosaic. This project bridges two generations of voices, creating a powerful public monument to community pride:
The East Side | Emerging Voices: A dedicated platform for the next generation of LGBTQ2+ curators and equity-deserving artists. Rooted in mentorship, this side gives rising talent the hands-on experience, support, and visibility they need to become future leaders in our public arts scene.
The West Side | Established Voices: A showcase of senior LGBTQ2+ muralists and leading local artists. They bring master-level technical skill and professional leadership to the site, providing real-time mentorship and a beautiful blueprint for collaborative growth.

How Your Donation Drives Inclusion:
To bring this massive live activation to life, we need our community's backing. Your support directly ensures that our artists are safely equipped, fairly compensated, and given the resources to create a beautiful, lasting landmark of belonging.
Here is exactly how your funds will be used:
- Over 65% goes directly to artist fees and curatorial honorariums, directly supporting local queer creatives and their career growth.
- 15% buys premium, weather-resistant paints, primers, and specialized mural supplies.
- 20% funds the essential safety equipment, scaffolding, and site setup needed to safely transform the building.
Our Goal: We are raising funds to create a permanent, destination-worthy cultural attraction that stands as a vibrant, joyful public expression of support, love, and belonging for the LGBTQ2+ community in Edmonton.
