South Hams - Scrubs for our NHS workers
There is currently a shortage of surgical scrubs in our area, because wearing scrubs is the safest and easiest way for ALL NHS staff (GPs & Hospital staff) to dress during the corona virus crisis.
We have had a request directly from Torbay Hospital who have asked us to make much needed scrubs as they cannot find them to buy.
What started initially as an occupation for the sadly land-locked lady sailors of the Dart has spread to other willing & able seamstresses in our area. We are based in three areas of South Hams - Dartmouth, Brixham & Totnes.
We are working as quickly as we can to get much-needed clothing to NHS staff.
We have some limited funding from South Hams but need more money to purchase the fabric
All our volunteers are giving up their time and expertise for free.
If there is any monies left over we will be proudly donating to help support the NHS Practitioners Health service. They help care for and support the mental well being of NHS workers, who are doing such an amazing and selfless job of looking after us all during this time.
Let's come together to help the people on the front line who are working 24/7 to keep up all safe.
The volunteers are all working within the government guidelines of the lockdown.
