SOUL KITCHEN - relieving food poverty
Hello to all the donors:
Update as of April 2024:
I'm still raising money for the SOUL KITCHEN. We raised the £24,000 from the last campaign- thank you. The total is being raised to £60,000- the team of volunteers are truely amazing, as are you, the donors.
Please see the updates below on what work is done with your money. We are spending £30,000 a year purely on food supply.
Please continue to donate. Every penny turns into food for those who can’t afford to buy apples, bananas, oranges, salad, vegetables. And they get a hot packed meal.
AUSTERITY IS HERE TO STAY.
What is Soul Kitchen?
A band of multinational, multi-faith volunteers have worked throughout COVID and now deliver thousands of meals a year. It all started in 2017.
Hot food, served at a children centre in Kenmore and a mosque in Harrow - all welcome, no questions asked.
Initially, it was served in proper plates with fruit to follow. During COVID, it switched to delivery for those in need. Now it is a pick-up service - the clients come and pick up what they need…
If you have the time to give each weekend please contact: [email redacted].uk.
You will be most welcome. It is rewarding and inspiring at the same time. Or look at the website : https://www.soulkitchenuk.co.uk
I (Iqbal) know the organisers- and 100% of your donations go in food. Direct from your wallet to the shopping bags.
If you don’t have time, please donate the money so the work can carry on.
It is a registered charity. 1192488.
It has won awards from Harrow Council.
The Web Kitchen set up the website for free. Thank you to them!
Many supermarkets now allow us to pick up surplus food so we don’t need to buy it.
AUSTERITY IS NOT GOING AWAY ANY TIME SOON
