Sophie H's Architectural Mission to Moldova
Donation protected
On 7th November I am flying out to Moldova (Between Romania and Ukraine) for one week to start getting connected with existing missionaries and social action projects based around homeless children to establish how I can serve them architecturally.
Moldova is known for its extreme climate conditions, sweltering in the summer and harsh winters. It is currently the poorest nation in Europe and has a real problem of homelessness amongst children, which is heightened by the climate.
I will be spending the trip with an old family friend called Jim Pemberthy who has been doing mission work in Moldova for the past 17 years. He is closely linked with International Christian Fellowship and has recently taken on a charity called Love and Care for Moldova.
During this week I will be going to some of the orphanages, disabled centres and will be networking with all the people that make all this needed help possible. I will be engaging with many missionaries who engage in social action and I aim to understand how best through architecture I can help them.
Currently I have no financial means to afford this visit but I believe God is the provider and that He will provide the money I need! My accommodation, flights and fees in total cost £385 and I would really love for you my church family to support me to make this possible.
Back in 2016 I went on a mission trip to Moldova and I really sensed God put this poverty-stricken country on my heart. The past year embarking on my calling of helping communities through my architecture degree has made me realise that God is slowly preparing me for international architectural mission work. For the past 3 years I have been praying for God to open more opportunities to make a difference in Moldova so this visit has been a radical answer to prayer!
I am so thankful to God for placing me in such a wonderful church family and I would really love your support in helping me to get the £385 I need to continue in God's calling for my life.
Thank you so much and have a blessed day xx
