Someone I know was effected by this cancer. I loved them very much and want to make sure we try to find a cure. I want to honor her spirit by raising awareness of cholangiocarcinmoa (or bile duct cancer).
She was only 55 years old and did not smoke or drink. She also had a relatively healthy diet. There was no explanation for her diagnosis and this type of cancer is so asymptomatic that it often isn't discovered until it has progressed into a later stage.
She fought a courageous fight 45 days with the same kind of dignity she lived her life with and on Jan 15th she gained her heavenly wings and joined Christ.
She was one of the kindest, sweetest, most pure hearted humans I will ever know.
She was a wonderful Daughter,
She was a wonderful Mom,
She was a wonderful Grandmother, Wife, Sister, and Friend.
In her 55 years of life she touched many, many lives with her sweet soul.

More information about Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation: Founded in 2006, the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation (CCF) is the only non-profit in North America dedicated to finding a cure and improving the quality of life for those affected by bile duct cancer. More than 5,000 people are diagnosed with this hard-to-detect, difficult-to-treat, fatal type of cancer in the United States each year, and incidence is sharply increasing. Despite treatment, most people diagnosed with advanced bile duct cancer have less than a 10 percent chance of surviving five years.
