Sons of Coquitlam man in ICU

Hi my name is Alishia. I am the parent of a friend to the boys. As a parent I cannot even imagine any child going through what these boys are left to deal with. They are losing their parent, the person who they counted on and relied on. They have been thrust into deciding everything for the father who has helped them come to decisions throughout their life. Please help the family of a Coquitlam man who is in the icu fighting for his life,

On February 10 Terry Miller and his son Tyler (Nasa-Dyke) -Miller were violently attacked at a strip mall in Coquitlam. Both men received several stab wounds leaving Tyler receiving ongoing care from his injuries and his father almost dying on scene.

Due to Tylers quickly administered first aid his father’s life was saved and he is in the ICU in critical condition. Terry is a 66 yr old single father whose 2 sons Tyler 20 and Mathew 18 relied on their dads income to help pay rent and bills.

These boys are trying to navigate the health care system, make difficult medical decisions regarding their fathers care and deal with the emotional impact this has had on their lives.

Please help these boys have some time to grieve and deal with all the impacts this horrible tragedy has put upon them without all the financial worry.

They will have to pay all the bills, rent, moving expenses, travel expenses, and the costs around a service for their father. As the unfortunate decision to stop lifesaving care due to his declining condition is in the works.

As as parent it horrifies me Tyler not only witnessed this attack but after being stabbed himself was left applying pressure to wounds to the neck/throat while his father had slumped to the ground bleeding out. This was a close family and there is a young adult of 20 (Tyler) and and a young adult of 18 yrs old (Mathew) left to navigate the end of life care and planning of a service to the only parent they had. These boys now have to do the rest of their lives without him and are in shock. They will undoubtedly require some therapy and care in helping to cope with the aftermath of a attack like this.
