Heidi Lemer

We are Heidi's family and are helping her husband and daughters with their financial needs to assist in Heidi's medical care. Heidi is the one in the middle of the picture with the beautiful "SONNEE STRONG'' smile, sitting on Santa's lap, with the reindeer on her shirt!    On September 13th, 2020 in the early morning, Heidi's husband found Heidi in bed unresponsive. 911 transferred her to Foston Hospital, upon examination it was determined that they were unable to treat her significant brain bleed and had to transfer her to Fargo hospital for more intensive care.  In the next 24 hours she went through 2 brain surgeries to relieve the swelling where the doctors pronounced her ALMOST "brain dead" with little brain activity and severe brain swelling.  Her husband, Ron and twin daughters', Courtney and Calie, refused to give up hope and insisted on continuation of the medical treatment knowing Heidi and her strength!  After 3 weeks in the ICU at Fargo Essentia Hospital she was transferred to the Vibra/Sanford Rehab Hospital in Fargo for continued therapy.  Heidi never gave up...after weeks of intense therapy Heidi made enough progress that she was able to be transferred to Madonna Rehab Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska for continued therapies.  Heidi is a fighter and is continuing to fight this battle.  She is improving slowly and is now carrying on conversations, slowly being able to feed and dress herself with the help of 2 caregivers and with the aid of special glasses, her eyes are beginning to improve.  Ron has been able to have a personal leave from work and has been by Heidi's side throughout this time.  Heidi's daughters have spent as much time as allowed by the hospital due to COVID regulations.  The medicals bills are astronomical, in spite of some insurance.  Heidi has a live time recovery ahead of her and will need significant assistance.  Heidi has always been there for anyone who needed her and now she needs us!  If you can help Heidi and her family - anything will help and your prayers are greatly appreciated.
