Solidarity with Sonia

Our dear friend Sonia, an active member of Iglesia Amigos de Indianapolis, and mother of three was detained at her annual ICE check-in.  It's so hard to understand how Sonia could be considered a criminal and ripped away from her family.  Her lawyer told us that she is a priority for deportation and that there was nothing to be done, and that she was not entitled to bail. We are preparing for the inevitable, deportation back to El Salvador. The children will likely join her in El Salvador after deportation, a country they have never know that is overrun with gangs and violence.

We ask you to join us as we pray and raise support for detention and resettlement costs for Sonia and her family.  This will include things like detention visitation trips and expenses, child care during detention, plane tickets and moving costs.  Iglesia Amigos de Indianapolis will be collecting funds on behalf of Sonia and her family.
