As some of her friends know, our dear beautiful Socorro is currently very ill and hospitalized in serious condition in Mexicali. Socorro has undergone abdominal surgery for a condition that Drs had difficulty diagnosing until it was quite severe. She has been in the hospital for over a month, much of the time in intensive care. She will continue to need additional treatments including more surgeries, so, as she fights this battle, she will remain hospitalized for the foreseeable future. Socorro and Alex have medical insurance that is covering her basic care, but anything considered "extra" must be covered out of pocket, and those expenses are mounting. Their immediate financial needs are great. Socorro's beloved husband Alex is continually by her side, but he must squeeze in the round trip back to San Felipe to take care of their rescued dogs.
