My Story
I entered a treatment house in June of this year. When I went in, I was a mess. I was scared of the unknown. I was going to miss my family and friends. Also, I wasn’t quite sure if the treatment house could help me manage my problem. This step turned out to be the best I could take, for my family and my life.
I spent 60+ days in treatment. While I was there, I turned to exercise and physical activity to establish a daily routine. I learned that my body was producing natural chemicals that helped my healing process and repaired damages from my addiction.
I am very fortunate and blessed to have an amazing support system of friends and family. I am well aware that many do not always have the same.
I lost a dear cousin to addiction in early 2020. His battle took his life and is why I am dedicating this non-profit to his memory.
It’s my goal to help other addicts and families recover from this disease. If I can help one person recover or provide support during their battle, my cousin’s fight against the disease will continue on.
Mission Statement:
SoberFit is a non-profit organization.
We encourage and educate the benefits of physical activity and nutritional wellness for people affected by addiction.
SoberFit works with recovery centers, groups and individuals by offering activities and tools to help enrich the mind, body and spirit.
We emphasize progress rather than perfection, one day at a time.
