PEPTALK's so long, so long project fundraiser

PEPTALK is a dance collaboration by Maddie Hopfield and Marin Day based in Brooklyn, NY. PEPTALK premiered their first piece isn’t it pretty to think so? at LifeWorld in Gowanus in 2023.

We are premiering our first evening length work so long, so long in June at Kestrels in Gowanus. We are so thrilled to be sharing our work at Kestrels and are incredibly grateful to Katie Workum for opening her magical space to us. Backed by the generous mentorship and support of Katie, so long, so long is entirely self produced. We are bolstered by many close friends who have already offered their time and energy to help us develop this work and staff the performances. With this fundraiser, we are asking for our community’s support with the financial lift of realizing this self produced performance.

so long, so long is PEPTALK’s first evening length work. With movement and voice, Maddie and Marin physicalize and externalize the wandering mind as they weave through a decade of disjointed fantasies, nostalgia and memory. Fascinated by functionless machines as a movement modality and mirror for our shortcomings and supposed failures, they disorganize into nonsensical images and rubber band back into each other again. As they stumble through time they wonder with anticipation what is to come and in turn what will be lost. Part farewell and part chaotic love letter, so long, so long asks how do you keep going when you’re already going?
