Snake Bite Costs - Marc Morris

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your prayerful consideration of support for my Brother, Marc Morris. As most of you know, he was in a friend’s garage, in the dark, and was bitten on the hand by a baby pygmy rattlesnake two days ago in Berryville, Arkansas, but was not able to receive the anti-venom due to the cost ($140,000 per treatment). Marc and his family are currently uninsured since they were returning from four years in Ecuador, helping at-risk and orphaned children. After having been a police officer for more than 15 years prior to their departure for Ecuador, Marc is due to resume his employment in law enforcement, but employment and insurance are not set to begin until 1 September. Although he did not, yet, receive the anti-venom, his family has already incurred more than $5,000 in emergency medical expenses as a result of this tragedy.
Marc is in a lot of pain as the venom works its way through his lymph nodes, and there’s a strong possibility that he will lose at least a portion of his hand, which is particularly difficult since he is a law enforcement officer and the bite originated on his trigger finger.
Funds raised for my Brother and his family will help to cover pre-existing medical costs resulting from the bite, as well as assist with anti-venom, further treatment of the bite, and associated side-effects.
A shameless plug for my Brother and his family. No family has ever been more deserving of benefit of the doubt, but while they would NEVER say these things about themselves, or seek praise, here's snapshot of their lives of service:
1) Fostered more than 140 children.
2) Adopted four children, in addition to their four natural children.
3) Served four years in the jungles of Ecuador, serving at-risk and orphaned children.
4) Served for 15 years in law enforcement as a Police Sergeant, Patrolman, SWAT, K-9 Handler, Drug Recognition Expert, and soon, as Criminal Investigations Sergeant.
In short, they've made a difference with their lives, and it is my sincere prayer that we can make a difference in theirs. Thank you for your prayerful consideration, Friends!
