Smith Family Hurricane Relief

Please support the Smith Family: Molly and Justin, their sweet two year old daughter Lillian and fur-babies Roscoe Stinkins, Belle, Trixie, and Kitty Kitty. ­

After safely evacuating their home in Huffman, Texas, on the outskirts of Houston, the Smiths had over two feet of damaging flood water from Hurricane Harvey enter their 2ft elevated home. Flood waters have destroyed everything they had to leave behind, including furniture, large and small appliances and other miscellaneous necessities. No flood insurance. Clean-up and repairs to the house itself will be an arduous and costly project. To top it all off, (Houston-native) Justin's work is based in Houston so any additional income will be on hold indefinitely until conditions improve in the city.

A little personal bit about my relationship to Molly and why I felt compelled to create this page: My name is Jenna Foster. Molly and I grew up together in McGregor, Texas. Molly is a rare bird. She is one of the kindest and most selfless people I’ve ever known. She ALWAYS puts other people’s needs before her own and has been that way ever since we first became friends around age 7. For all the times she has stood up for what is right, I want to give us all a chance to show her our gratitude.

Some details regarding funds:
All funds collected through this page will be provided directly from GoFundMe to the Smiths (c/o Justin Smith) to ease the financial burden of all flood-related expenses. Your contributions will help with buying basic items such as food, clothes, gas, toddler and pet supplies. Coming directly from Molly, additional urgent expenses will be "large yard garbage bags, cleaning supplies, bleach, strong disinfectant cleaners, anti-mold antifungal type cleaners, fans, mops, buckets, laundry supplies, dish soap's, basically anything to clean up a giant muddy mess." Once the Smiths are through the initial cleaning/rebuilding phase, all furniture and appliances will need to be replaced, including expensive items such as fridge, beds and stove. This list only skims the surface, but hopefully will give you a sense of why ANY contribution will help.
