My teenage daughter Laís needs major dental work due to Tooth Agenesis (Hypdontia). This was discovered when she was a child at the age of four. She had false teeth for awhile, then age 15 she had two implants put in to remedy the problem. Now, at age 18 she has developed issues with the implants, including loss of bone and gum. This is compromising her health, not to mention her smile. (See more photos at the bottom of this story.)

She needs a treatment that includes the removal of the two implants, grafting of bone and gum, building a bridge or implants, etc. This treatment is very expensive here in the United States. We consulted over five different dental offices from Fort Lauderdale to Atlanta, and received quotes for up to $80,000. 

However, we have been lucky and we located a remarkable dentist in Brazil who can provide the extraordinary professional care that is needed for $10,000. This has been wonderful news because we have been struggling with the financing of this expense. Although this work in Brazil significantly reduces the cost, it is still an expensive procedure and beyond our means. 

We have set up this Go Fund Me for Laís as an alternative to the usual holiday and birthday gifts. Now our family, friends, clients, and others can give her the gift of a smile through Go Fund Me—and with that, some new self-confidence! This is a gift that will last a lifetime!
