My name is Oriel Cornwall,
and I want to thank you for visiting our GoFundMe campaign to help us raise the funds to finalize the opening of our creative and media production haven in St. Croix USVI.
In the last two years the US Virgin Islands has experienced major growth in our interest and participation in media production and creative arts from persons of all ages.
We have created what we believe can be the first of many needed developments to elevate and bring our local media production industries online with the opportunities for professionals to earn meaningful livings and the avenues for young aspiring creatives to learn skills that can be monetized anywhere in the world.
My three business partners and I recently signed a lease for our commercial space: SOUNDSTAGE VI
Our facility is designed to support all the media production needs of the growing creative industries on our island.
WHITE ROOM STUDIO SPACE
We have a four room facility with three rooms specifically constructed for industry level photography, video production and cinematography.
BLACK ROOM STUDIO SPACE
We are awaiting the arrival of equipment from over seas that will bring leading media production tools into the hands of US Virgin Islands creatives and producers of content as well as our youth interested in learning and developing skills in media arts and production.
GREEN ROOM STUDIO SPACE
Our build out includes the space for computer access with the latest software for editing and producing content.
We intend to offer this space to any and every organization and individual that can benefit from access to our tools and building space.
Our initial budget required major updates to several aspects of the space and we planned accordingly for our costs. However the expert inspectors proposed purchased that exceeded our budget.

We had several inspections that brought expert recommendations for Air Conditioning Units to be purchased that exceeds the amount we intended to spend in our budget for the units.
The nature of the electrical power demand we will need to run a building like this including the direct line from the AC units also requires some additional safety measures and increasing of load carrying elements to meet the expert recommendation for our Breaker box and Electrical system.
We are seeking funds so that we may purchase TWO MINI SPLIT AC SYSTEMS
to adequately cool our space with the minimum recommended units from the expert.

Additional funds will go to rewiring our breaker box and placing in upgraded breaker switches that can handle larger electrical loads to meet the proper specifications for inspections.
We plan to create Annual scholarships of $500 each for every $1000 we are able to raise in funding. These $500 scholarships will go to students pursuing higher education at UVI.
For Example: John Smith Donates $1000 = $500 "John Smith Scholarship" paid out to a student every year.
The names or chosen names of those who donate funds totaling in $1000 will collectively share the honor of a scholarship created in their names that goes to a student to attend UVI.
For Example: John Smith Donates $500 and Bob Smith Donates $500 = $1000
- $500 Scholarship "In Honor of John Smith & Bob Smith"
Every year we will select students and reward them with their $500 scholarships.
Progress and details about the scholarship will be updated to allow tracking and input in recipient selection process every year as well.
