Slater Fire LTRG - Home Rebuilding Program

Tax deductible
The Slater Fire Long-Term Recovery Group is raising funds to rebuild homes of Slater Fire survivors. Many families were underinsured or uninsured. They have some funds to rebuild their lives but not enough. Your contribution will be used to purchase materials to build these homes. We are fortunate to partner with another nonprofit, Hope Crisis Response Network. They have committed to spend the next 3-5 years in Happy Camp rebuilding homes for the cost of materials. They utilize volunteer labor to rebuild these homes at a significant cost savings to homeowners.

The Slater Fire started on September 8, 2020 at the Slater Butte Lookout. Strong winds pushed the fire Northwest towards Happy Camp homes. The community lost 212 homes and has over 400 survivors. Many of our families have lived here for generations. Help them come home.
