Sky's Spleen Surgery

Sky is the Mama Bear of TBM. She joined us a month after we opened in 2007. She and her dad, Joe, have become family. More than likely, it is because of Joe that your dog is a part of our pack: he campaigns for TBM on his own accord and has shared Sky with us for over 10 years. Now it's our turn to campaign for them.

Sky's spleen ruptured this week; she was bleeding internally and it was a matter of hours between life and death. On Wed., March 21, she went in for emergency surgery. As a large breed and all this process entails, it will cost over 12k. Sky is otherwise very healthy and has many years left. I joined Joe at Blue Pearl to talk through the options and understand what was needed to keep Sky alive. It was hours of tears and heartbreak, wondering if she would even make it through the surgery. Thankfully she is recovering well and will be home by Friday for a long road to recovery.
