Donation protected
In a joint effort with WI DNR, SKMHTA is proceeding with the initial phase of Horseriders Corral Project to further improve the equestrian camping facilities. The addition of permanent horse corrals at Horseriders Campground in Palmyra, WI will encourage horse enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels by providing safe and secure containment areas for horses while camping.
2018 - Planned installation of two 12’ x 12’ Premium Corral Panels or 24' X 24' pen at 8 reserveable campsites. Projected material and site preparation costs per site of $1700. SKMHTA has pledged nearly 100 hours of volunteer labor for this phase.
Update: As of 4/28/2019, (2) 12x12 pens are at sites 414, 415, 416, 417, 419, 432 and 434.
24x24 corrals are now located at sites 401, 437, 451, 454, 458 and 461. (500 loop was renumbered to 400's on the website but the sites are still listed as 551, 554,558 and 561)
2019 - Additional corrals to be installed at 4 more sites, with the final number of pens to be determined by total funding received.
