Skip's top surgery!!!

Hi!!! I'm Skip, and I'm non-binary, 21, and living in the UK! ~

So, why am I fundraising? Long story short, I'm looking to get a procedure called top surgery which is basically a breast reduction!

My consultation date is the 4th of May 2021, with a likely surgery date of August 2021.

I'll be working hard and saving my own money too of course, but any support I can get would be hugely appreciated! If you're unable to donate or don't want to then that's absolutely fine, I would also hugely appreciate either sharing my fundraiser or just giving me some moral support! I know all of my friends and family are so great and I just want to say I appreciate your support always :)

When I hit puberty at around 11 years old, my chest started developing. This caused me severe discomfort, although I never expressed these feelings with anyone. I used to look in the mirror and feel disgusted with myself; I hated my body so much and prayed every night to wake up with a flat chest. Now, I feel that my prayer is being answered :)

At the age of 16, I had been ignoring my feelings of gender and pushed myself to be extra feminine, blocking out those strange feelings, until the day I was gifted my first chest binder. The wave of euphoria that rushed over me while trying it on was extremely overwhelming, and for once I actually loved looking at my chest in the mirror! In fact, I couldn't get enough

Now, 5 years later, I wear a binder almost every time I leave the house. It's increased my confidence hugely, but unfortunately, it can only be worn for eight hours maximum before rib damage starts to occur, especially in larger chests like mine.

I would love to be small chested, look in the mirror, and feel great about myself, rather than just putting up with my current body knowing it causes me anxiety. Therefore I'm raising money for a surgical procedure to remove the majority of my breast tissue in order to decrease my chest size. I'm aware that there are more important causes to donate to, and I would never want anyone to feel obligated to donate, but this surgery will definitely make a huge improvement to my self-confidence and it's something I have been considering for over 4 years, but technically since childhood.
