Belt Lipectomy Skin Removal Surgery

For the past few years, I have dedicated my entire life to fitness and health. I went through a very dramatic weight loss transformation going from 386 pounds to 225 which took me almost two years to achieve once I intentionally start exercising and practicing good nutrition.

Since then I’ve always done my best to ignore the scars, skin covering my 103.4 LBs of skeletal muscle mass and elasticity that I do have still from the excess skin, but I’ve had to do some serious soul searching as I set my sights on bodybuilding competition and feeling comfortable in my skin, regardless of that. 

I know that in order to see all my true hard work and dedication from a lifestyle I have worked my literal ass off for and maintained for over 2 years, I’ll need to get excess skin removal surgery. It will take place on October 25th 2021. I’ve ready personally saved plenty towards what I need from my own income and expense and also from the GoFundMe. I just need an extra push. 

This has nothing to do with weight loss or a lack of work on my part. I’ve lost the weight. I am a statistical anomaly of people who have come back from morbid obesity to a healthy body weight and fat percentage and I couldn’t be more amazed I’ve done it or more proud of myself for turning my whole life around. 

This is simply my body being put through the duress of being morbidly obese for 20 years and the fall out from that is loose skin that unfortunately may not tighten in the ways that I need to see it because of the elasticity. 

I’m thinking of it like this - I’m still wearing baggy clothes and can’t see what I actually look like because they don’t fit quite right and after so much hard work, I should be able to. I deserve to see the pay off of my hard work in the most extreme sense because the work I’ve put in IS extreme. The mental and emotional duress the loose and hanging skin causes me is hard to deal with on a daily basis for a lot of reasons. Even though I have back problems from it, insurance won’t cover it. I know I can fully make this transformation and make my dream come through if this GoFundMe reaches the goal. My surgery is October 25th.

This does not negate the work I’ve done - it only emphasizes it and truly reveals what I look like in my new body. It’s the next chapter. I’ve prayed about it, I’ve consulted, I’ve talked it out, I’ve done research and looked into similar cases to mine. I have a lot of feelings about it but I know it’s right. Here’s to turning the page.
