Skepsis's campaign for Young Minds Trust

This month, I am raising money for the Young Minds Trust by running 100 miles in September, a charity which helps young people with their mental health. It was the favourite charity of James, who I will explain about below.

A couple of months ago, I was introduced to James Kimberley by friend of a friend. James suffered from the same rare condition as me called HPPD, and we spoke for hours on Zoom about our struggles, and also about raising awareness of the condition (especially within the rave scene, as it is a drug-related issue). We spoke regularly and he would come to me for advice and support, as I've had HPPD for a few years so am fairly used to it.

Tragically, James passed away recently. I am completely shocked and upset - although I didn't know him long, he was such a kind, genuine and warm person, and also a big fan of mine. Suicide rates (especially amongst men) are awfully high, and I urge ANYONE going through something to reach out - you are not alone. Similarly, please check up on your friends... I will always be wondering if I could have done more, however I know our chats really helped James. He recently spoke out about HPPD, which was very brave of him as I know he was nervous about it.

To raise money for Young Minds, I will be running 100 miles this month - every donation will help, no matter how big.
