HELP US FINISH A SKATEPARK IN MOZAMBIQUE

We are three MA students of African studies at the University of Copenhagen who have formed an NGO as our final project that will take place in Mozambique. This NGO, that we called Skate World Better intends to build the first public skatepark in Mozambique and use skateboarding as a tool to prevent criminality and drug abuse which are unfortunately prevalent in Mozambique's capital city. The country is experiencing a massive "youth bulge" as 45% of the population is younger than 15 years of age.  Our main point is to give these kids something magical, something that we believe in with our hearts and something we are very familiar with. Yes, it is skateboarding.

We have linked with both, local-based and international communities that want to take their part in this project, but we can not do it without an initial budget for the materials. So far we have obtained a land a bunch of volunteers, loads of equipment that will be moved to Mozambique (skateboards, clothes), the design and a whole study of the future Youth Center. Slowly, we are getting money from our sponsors, but we need your help, to be able to gather the necessary equipment, facilities, and materials.
