Sixth Form Kitchen Equipment
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Sam Alvarez and I am the Head of the Sixth Form at Seaford Head School.
I am doing a crazy running challenge on 26th January 2024 in order to raise much needed funds for our sixth form kitchen. I would like to raise enough money to replace our broken hob and to buy a range of other kitchen equipment such as a toaster, kettle, microwave and juicer. This would enable our wonderful sixth form students to use the currently very sparse kitchen to learn basic cooking skills, cook their own healthy and affordable breakfasts and lunches, make friends, socialise and relax. All of this will stand them in good stead when they progress to their next destination, whether it be going away to university or to start an apprenticeship.
I am taking part in the Longbridge 100 Backyard Ultra in Littlington. The challenge is for runners to run a 4.167 mile hilly loop every hour on the hour. The race ends when there is only one runner left in the event! My goal is to run a minimum of 12 loops (50 miles), but I will try my utmost best to run 24 loops (100 miles); especially if it means more people will donate to our sixth form kitchen fund!
This challenge is important to me not just because I love running and pushing myself to new limits, but mostly because I want to enable our wonderful sixth form students to enjoy the use of a fully functioning kitchen, with a focus on improving their physical and mental health and wellbeing. We will also use the kitchen to host social events for parents, staff and other friends and members of our amazing Seaford community.
All donations, however big or small, will be very gratefully received. As will ideas for what we should buy and cook!
Huge thanks in advance for your support,
