Seat elevator for wheelchair
Donation protected
Hello friends, family, colleagues and random philanthropists.
I'm Jason Tweed and this Go Fund Me campaign will raise money for an accessory for my wheelchair.
My new wheelchair is over $22,000, and thankfully, mostly covered by my medical insurance.
One of the features, however, won't be covered but can dramatically improve my quality of life.
A Seat Elevator raises my wheelchair seat 11 inches higher than normal. It gives me a worldview of a standing adult (albeit a short adult) and could make a big difference in my work, my life, and for my family.
This "luxury" adds over $4000 that must come out of my pocket.
I've worked hard to tuck money away for my kids, 12-year-old twins, a boy and a girl. I want to be able to use our savings for college and to help them kickstart their life. I hate to think that my disability will detract from that hard work.
Many of my family and friends have encouraged me to create this campaign and offered assistance, both financially and by spreading it around the Internet.
I decided to make a funny video with my kids (and my giant puppy). I hope you enjoy it.
Pay special attention to the T-shirts in the video. At the end I'll tell you what to do to get some for yourself.
Special thanks to my wife whose extraordinary cinematography contributed to this effort.
If you want to get in touch personally, you can reach me through my Facebook page. www.facebook.com/JasonTweed
You can also check out my blog at www.Sunfyre.com for updates and other "words from a seated position".
Many thanks!
Jason
